Book Week 2017

Each year across Australia, The CBCA brings children and books together celebrating CBCA Children’s Book Week. During this time schools, libraries, booksellers, authors, illustrators and children celebrate Australian children's literature.
At Brighton State School we will celebrate with a Book Parade on Tuesday the 22nd of August and lots of fun activities in and around the library between Monday August 21st and Thursday August 24th.
The annual CBCA Book of the Year Awards affirm the quality of some of Australia’s most creative people and provides a boost to their capacity to devote time to their craft.
Established with the first awards in 1946, the annual CBCA Book of the Year Awards aim to:
  • promote quality literature for young Australians
  • support and encourage a wide range of Australian writers and illustrators of children’s books
  • celebrate contributions to Australian children’s literature.

Each year Brighton State School celebrates the short list titles with events and activities focused around the list. You can find the 2017 short list here
