Our school

Brighton State School was established in 1920 and is located in the bayside suburb of Brighton, neighbouring Sandgate and Shorncliffe. Brighton is a co-educational primary school with an enrolment of approximately 350 children.

The school is managed by a dedicated team consisting of a Principal, Deputy Principal, Business Services Manager, Head of Curriculum, Master Teacher, Support Teacher: Literacy and Numeracy, several full-time teaching staff, specialist teachers, administration and ancillary staff.
Parents in our school community are supportive, knowledgeable in school matters and involved both in the classroom and in general school affairs. The Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) is active and both parents and staff have the opportunity to serve on P&C sub-committees.
Particular features of the school include its use of computers in classrooms (a modern air conditioned library, a multipurpose hall, a performance hall and large ovals).
Consistent and supportive behaviour management is a strong focus and all members of the school community work towards making our school a vibrant place of learning.
