Welcome to Brighton State School Library.
Our school library houses an up-to-date collection of books and resources reflecting the needs of our school community.
Borrowing and browsing
All students visit the library at least once each week with their class to browse, return and borrow.
Students in Prep to Year 3 will need a waterproof library bag to borrow. These library bags are available for purchase from the school uniform shop.
The library is also available to students for borrowing during first break.
Our collection
Students have access to a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction books, picture books and popular series. Students at Brighton State School also have access to the Queensland State Schools eBooks Digital Library. The eBooks Digital Library is an extensive collection of digital resources and eBooks which students can access at school and at home on their own devices.
To access the digital library, download the Sora app from the Apple Store or Google Play or visit online https://soraapp.com/welcome.
When selecting school, choose Education Queensland (Not Brighton State School). Students will then need to enter their MISID (school computer user name).
Computers
Our library hosts a computer lab with 27 student workstations which is used by classes throughout the week. Students may access the computer lab at first break.
Book Week
Brighton State School celebrates the Children's Book Council of Australia's Book Week each year. It is a very exciting time on our school calendar when students and staff dress up as their favourite characters for a book week parade and celebrate the year's winning books.
